Baristi Rosarito is the Playas de Rosarito branch of Baristi, the specialty coffee chain born in Tijuana. It sits at Benito Juárez 15, in the Ampliación Lucio Blanco neighborhood on the north side of town, about 6 km (4 miles) from downtown, toward Tijuana. It holds 4.1 stars from 552 reviews on Google Maps (Oct 22, 2026), and according to the branch map on its website it is the chain’s only location in Rosarito; the rest of its Baja California cafés are in Tijuana.
The brand has some history. According to Tijuana en la Noticia (November 2023), the project started in March 1999 under the name Sildavia, in Playas de Tijuana, and became Baristi in 2001, when it moved to the Zona Río; SanDiegoRed (November 2021) also describes it as a 100% Tijuana company founded in 2001. Its founder, Fabián Sánchez, won Mexico’s national barista competition in 2003. Today its website mentions more than 17 cafés, headquartered in Tijuana with locations in Culiacán and Guadalajara, and 100% Mexican specialty coffee bought directly from growers.
The menu’s calling card is the Cafruccino, the house frappé: the Mexican Oreo, with espresso, chocolate and Oreo cookies, carries the line "Best specialty drink CMB 2003" on the menu. There is also an espresso bar with flavored lattes, mochas (Aztec, Maui, Almond Joy), chai and matcha, iced "en las rocas" drinks, real-fruit smoothies, tonics and limonatas, and to eat, bagels, cookies and slices of cake. On Rappi, from this branch, an Americano is 70 pesos and a Cafruccino 123 to 194 pesos (Oct 22, 2026).
The café is two stories, with leather couches, big tables and low lighting. Customers use it as an office: a 2024 review compares it to a small coworking space for its many seats and outlets, and upstairs there is a bookable meeting room, for about 12 people according to one customer, plus a terrace that hosts events. There is plenty of parking out back, a drive-thru so you can order without leaving your car, and it opens at 5:30 AM almost every day, handy for a coffee before an early crossing into Tijuana.

What people say
«Wow! What a cafe! Feels like a coworking space here. The work area is huge. Lots of seats and outlets. It really does have the feel of a small coworking space. I’ll definitely be back to work here. Coffee was great as well. They have a lot of hot and cold options.»
«I love this place 🤎, especially the meeting room and the terrace. The prices seem very reasonable to me for the number of people in our group, and the same goes for the events we have held on the terrace. ☕️ The facilities are very nice and clean. Same with the parking: you don’t struggle to find a spot for your car. I love the service and the cozy space. 🤎🤎»
«Very calm atmosphere, low tone music, dim lighting, and very comfortable sofas. Good for a good time with friends and family. The only thing I would change is, next time I order a frappe, to make sure to ask for it to be ice cream finish so it's not so runny, the flavor is perfect.»
«Clean, modern place with a calm atmosphere. Good, friendly service. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but I liked the flavor here so much that I came back for a Cafruccino.»
«Baristi has a beautiful space, comfortable seating, and a nice atmosphere for meeting friends or getting some work done. The Chai en las Rocas was enjoyable, and the café itself is well designed. My experience with the service was average. The staff was polite, but they seemed a bit distracted and not very attentive during my visit. No one asked for my name when I ordered, and I eventually had to go up to the counter to ask if the drink sitting there was mine.»
«The coffee leaves a lot to be desired; if you get the chance to come, I'd advise you to pass. The desserts are bad 😞 They serve you in a rush, maybe because they're short-staffed. The place is clean, but all in all I don't recommend it.»
Good to know
- Working? Head upstairs. There are large tables and outlets, and upstairs a meeting room you can book (for about 12 people, according to a 2023 customer). Ask at the counter about availability.
- Order your frappé thicker. One customer suggests asking for the Cafruccino with an ice cream finish so it isn’t runny. The Mexican Oreo is the house specialty.
- Coffee before the border. It opens at 5:30 AM Sunday through Thursday and Saturday (7 AM on Friday) and has a drive-thru, according to 2023 and 2024 reviews: handy if you are heading to Tijuana or the border early.
- Park out back. Parking is behind the building and roomy, according to several customers; Google Maps lists it as free.
- The app costs more. Rappi prices are usually higher than at the counter. If you go in person, check the menu board.
