Hotel Festival Plaza, Rosarito, Baja California

Hotel Festival Plaza

On the boulevardBoulevard Benito Juárez$$ · Mid-range

You can't miss it: its roller-coaster-shaped facade is one of the most recognizable sights on Boulevard Benito Juárez. It is a 3-star hotel planted in the heart of downtown's bar, club and restaurant zone, half a block from the beach. The equation is simple: you stay where everything happens — with the party, the noise, and the convenience of walking back to your room.

The hotel is built around a central plaza with a stage that often hosts live music and events, surrounded by rooms, casitas and common areas. It has a pool, hot tub and spa services, plus bars and food options inside the complex itself. Rosarito's main beach is across the side street, a couple of minutes on foot, and the boardwalk and the "PLAYA ROSARITO" letters are a short walk away.

Its real product is the location: Papas & Beer and the loudest clubs in town are steps away, along with dozens of restaurants, pharmacies and shops. If your plan is a night out, this is one of the few places where getting back to the hotel involves no taxi and no designated driver.

The flip side — and recent reviews repeat it constantly — is the noise. On weekends the music from neighboring clubs reaches the rooms until 2 a.m., even with the windows closed, so this is not the place for early sleepers. Rooms are simple, on the small side and showing their age; guests recommend asking for a high floor, both for less noise and for ocean views. Set expectations: you are paying for the epicenter, not for luxury.
