Beach House Café is a small blue-painted wooden house with a mural of hummingbirds and coffee cherries, set right on the beach in Colonia Obrera, just north of downtown Playas de Rosarito. Its wooden deck sits on top of the seawall with the sand a few steps away, making it one of the few places in town where you drink your coffee watching the waves break. It opens daily from 7 AM to 9:40 PM, according to its Google Maps listing checked on October 22, 2026.
There are three areas: the open deck by the ocean, a semi-covered section and an enclosed room with a couch and a restroom, which helps because the Rosarito breeze gets chilly even in summer. The outdoor tables have gas fire pits. According to a Tijuana en Línea article (February 9, 2026), they light the fire at night and there is live music on weekends.
The menu is short and strictly café: espresso, lattes, mochas, frappés, chai, matcha, lemonades and seasonal drinks, plus pastries on the side (banana bread, cookies, brownies). There is no kitchen breakfast, so eat elsewhere and come back for coffee. The most-mentioned items in reviews are the pistachio latte, the Mexican mocha and the chai.
If you are coming from San Diego or Los Angeles: the main draw is the view, and reviewers say so plainly. A line forms at sunset, though service is quick; mornings are calmer. They take cards and contactless payment, pets are allowed and there is free street parking. A January 2026 review notes the menu has no English translation.

What people say
«Coffee shop by the sea, an excellent place to watch the sunset or just have a good time chatting with friends or reading a book. It has a wide variety of drinks such as coffee, tea, lemonades and some seasonal ones. They have desserts to go with your drinks; they don’t offer other kinds of food. It has a deck by the sea, a semi-open section and a fully enclosed area. There are heaters in the uncovered sections to cut the cold. Pets are allowed.»
«The coffee and the little breads are very good, tasty and fresh. Of all the ones we tried, the banana one was the winner, perfect with coffee. The place is very calm and also has a great view, ideal for sitting a while, relaxing and having a nice time.»
«Coffee is great. I prefer the pistachio latte, although i see a lot of people order cold drinks. There's always a long line but service is fast. Inside the coffee shop, it is warm and cozy with a couch and restroom. There's a patio outside with plenty of seating and an amazing view of the ocean and sunset. It can get cold, so wear something warm.»
«Coffee with the best VIEW.. ocean front with an indoor and outdoor space just perfect. Got the Amaricano and the Mexican Mocha and both were perfect. Got one Americano with honey and it was just done right. Macadamia cookies were delicious. Staff is super friendly. Quick service. Great to grab your coffee n go for a walk right on the beach.»
«The view is beautiful, which is what attracted me to this coffee shop. Unfortunately, the drinks and pastries didn’t live up to the setting. My coffee had a strong banana flavor that I didn’t enjoy. The caramel frappé was okay, but it barely tasted like coffee. The macadamia cookies oddly had cashews instead and were overly salted, and the chocolate chip cookies had the same issue. Both cookies were also very doughy. Everything looked beautiful, but what they had in appearance they lacked in taste. If you come, it’s mainly for the view, and you might be better off ordering something other than coffee. ☕🍪🌄»
Good to know
- Go early, or at sunset knowing what to expect. Mornings are calmer; at sunset it fills up and the line can stretch out the door, though service is fast (reviews from May and August 2026).
- Bring a jacket. The deck sits over the sand and the breeze gets cold. There are fire pits at the outdoor tables and an enclosed room if it gets chilly.
- Drinks and pastries only. There is no breakfast or kitchen food: plan to eat elsewhere and come here for coffee and baked goods.
- Bring your dog. Pets are allowed, according to 2026 reviews and the Google Maps summary.
- Spanish-only menu. A January 2026 review notes the menu has no English translation: know what to ask for (latte de pistache, mocha mexicano, chai).
