BOXHA Cafetería & Brunch is Rosarito's best-kept brunch secret: a spot on Calle Jalisco in the Constitución neighborhood, inland from downtown and away from the traffic on Blvd. Benito Juárez. It is not easy to find (a customer warned in 2025 that the dark brown sign is hard to see from a car), but people who make it come back: it holds 4.8 stars from 294 reviews on Google Maps (Oct 22, 2026), and "hidden gem" comes up again and again in reviews.
Inside there is a dining room with terracotta walls, artwork and plants, plus a patio under a wooden pergola with woven chairs and a mural of a Rosarito sunset featuring the pier, seagulls, a wave and the Sacred Heart Christ statue (the café's own photos on Google Maps). Bread is central to the kitchen: the house works with sourdough, and many tables start with slices of hearth loaf with butter and house-made jam, which several customers remember as fondly as the main dishes.
The menu reads more like a brunch restaurant than a coffee shop. For breakfast there are fruit bowls with labneh and pistachio, açaí, smoked salmon toast, avocado toast, shakshuka, brioche French toast, a pork belly sandwich with gochujang aioli and huevos rancheros with chicharrón; reviewers also rave about the mole chilaquiles and the braised pork omelette. Later in the day come salads, pastas, cochinita pibil sopes, catch of the day and a paella for two, with regional wines, mimosas and sangria. For dessert, the tres leches crepe and the "chile dulce," a chile stuffed with chocolate mousse.
The coffee bar pours espresso, cortado, latte, Oaxacan mocha, dirty chai, espresso tonic with orange or lemon, cold brew and carajillo, plus matcha, kombucha and tepache. It is open 8 AM to 9 PM every day except Thursday, parking is on the street and there is no delivery.

What people say
«This place is a hidden gem! It was a bit hard to find during Saturday swap meet, but very much worth it. Food is delicious, portions are generous and service is amazing. Everything we got was great, we especially liked braised pork omelette, mole chilaquiles and tres leches crepe. We are seriously considering making a drive from San Diego just to have breakfast at Boxha again!»
«It’s a hidden gem in Rosarito! For those of us who aren’t locals, this place away from the usual downtown is a real delight. We found a lot of variety on the breakfast menu, something for every taste, sweet and savory. We ordered chilaquiles and a light omelette, simply delicious. The portions are generous and the prices quite affordable. The finishing touch was the natural chai: perfect!»
«SO good, I got the Avocado toast with egg, arugula and tomato and to drink I had a super good Oaxacan Mocha which was a bit sweet but super good. Also tried the red chiliquilies which were amazing, and they can do a proper Cortado which is great. The sign is a bit hard to see outside, it’s kinda a dark brown color so it’s a bit hard to find when driving. Will come back! 5 out of 5 stars, awesome!»
«First (and definitely not last) visit to this great hidden very clean atmospheric gem of a restaurant. We ordered several different dishes and all of them were fantastic. From the octopus tostada's to the Pollo Al pesto, the mousse Chile relleno and the tres leches crepe. Every single plate was unique and delicious. The service could not be better and the place in very welcoming.»
«I want to give an honorable mention to the orange espresso tonic and to the guava jam with its sourdough bread. If the starters are this good, imagine the food.»
«I liked the food. I ordered a pork belly sandwich; I liked it, but I feel it needs a creamier touch. Overall I liked the place, very comfortable and good service ✨»
Good to know
- Skip Thursday. It is the only day it closes (Google Maps, Oct 22, 2026). The rest of the week it is open 8 AM to 9 PM.
- Look hard for the sign. A customer warned in 2025 that the dark brown sign is hard to see from a car. Put the location in your maps app and don’t look for it on Blvd. Benito Juárez: it is inland, in the Constitución neighborhood.
- Allow extra time on Saturdays. A January 2026 review says it was hard to reach because of the Saturday swap meet nearby. If you go that day, expect busy streets and park farther away.
- Start with the bread. The sourdough with house-made jam is one of the most praised items; if you like it, whole loaves can be ordered ahead (menu ~Apr 2026).
